The aluminium superstructure hides your luggage and other valuables from all too curious glances. For firewood, for example, there is a nice lockable space just under the roof tent. Once you reach your overnight spot, you can open the doors to grab your cold drink from the large dual-zone cooler. Behind one of the other doors emerges the compact yet comprehensive stainless steel kitchen. With the 2-burner cooker and a sink, you can prepare a nutritious meal, if desired while listening to music from the radio-CD player. In between meals, you can see how much power your batteries have left and whether the water level in your storage tank is still sufficient. You charge your GPS and mobile phone at the various 12-volt and USB sockets. There is plenty of room for your gear in the bins and spaces behind the remaining, lockable doors.

The separately supplied hot water supply, connected to the water tank and gas connection at the front of the tiller arm, lets you enjoy a well-deserved shower after a strenuous day. The LED lighting, supplied separately, allows you to read your book or roadmap energy-efficiently.

The chassis of the Sandy Desert X consists of hot-dip galvanised box section, the superstructure of aluminium plate and box section. The doors have stainless steel hinges and locks. The independent suspension has coil springs and shock absorbers. The Knott trailer coupling ensures a good connection to the towing vehicle. The nose weight is 90 kg, the empty weight is 900 kg and the maximum total weight is 1500 kg. The Knott overrun brake system ensures reliable braking.
